Assignment 3

In the center of the image is a pair of vibrantly-colored butterfly wings, attached to the back of a Caucasian man in business attire holding a satchel, and he is lifted about 2 feet of of the ground, looking like he is flying by use of the wings.
The image of the man with the butterfly wings is very crisp and clear, and the image of a Caucasian man walking in he opposite direction wearing a trenchcoat is slightly blurred.
They are set in front of a granite building with a large square window with vertical curtains, slightly drawn.
On the right border of the advert is corporate text "THE MACALLAN SCOTCH WHISKEY " and then it becomes illegible against the granite.
The bottom border has a stripe of yellow with the text "LEAD A MORE COLORFUL LIFE" in bold, "The Macallan" in italics, "SINGLE MALT WHIKSEY" in bold, and "rich in color rich in taste" in italics.
The Bottle of drink overlaps the yellow bar and the main image, about half in the yellow bar, and half out of it.
The bottle holds a amber liquid with "MACALLAN" readily visible on the label.

A Man and a woman are the center of the image.
The man and the woman are both smiling, the man holding up the woman, and the woman embracing the man around the neck, with her head resting on the man's. The woman's legs are in a position of straddling the man.
The woman seems to be in a bathing suit, the man in a tank top, and both are wet. They both appear to be enjoying themselves.
There is a impression-like image in the upper right-hand corner, with a date,1795; and emblem and writing running circular around the image.
The words "PURSUE YOUR DAYDREAMS." are written in capital letters across the lower half of the advert.
The background of the image is white with some light gold writing, comparable to the writing on the bottle of alcohol in the lower right hand corner.
across the bottom of the ad is the text "VIVE" in black standard text, and "Cuervo" in a more exotic font. A full bottle of the drink is next to the writing, and overlaps the image of the two people embracing.
Below the "VIVE Cuervo" text is spanish, "Hecho en Mexico. Desde 1975".
In the lower left corner, text runs across the bottom border: "Visit cuervo.com Drink responsibly"
In the gold colored liquid along the bottom edge is similar symbols like the ones found in the background of the upper image, seeming to be a reflection through the liquid of the images in the background, but does not include the two people embracing.
On the left border of the image is very small text, with the copyright symbol and other corporate information.

Similarities with the other advertisments:
All of the alcohol ads display the bottle of the product they are trying to sell, most have an image, then offset the actual product by making it smaller and usually in the corner.
Many of the ads have language on the advert that speaks directly to the viewer, and are written in capitals, to belie urgency.
There is not much text on the adverts, the most being the the final one, of the tequila. The text that does appear is very short, one or two sentences.
3/5 of the ads choose not to emphasize the actual product, and focus on activites, while the other focus on the drink, as a brand or simply as the only thing needed, as with the tequila advert.
3/5 of these ads also use sexuality in their advertising process, and 4/5 use a message of escapism.
